Ivan Rajkovic is a postdoc at the department and part of Tatjana Thelen's research team. His current research explores the shift from work to ‘nature’ as the basis of new political alliances in the Balkans.

The picture was taken during a fieldwork trip to Zambia, as part of a research project on how large-scale agricultural investments interact with critique - from NGOs, rural residents, journalists, etc. In this particular case, a European investor had obtained about 38,000 hectares of land. On a small part of this land, it has installed irrigation systems, so to make it possible to have two harvests per year (2018).

Tijo Salverda was a (fixed-term) professor of Social and Cultural Anthropology and lecturer at the department. His research focuses on elites and corporate actors, particularly how they perceive and respond to counter-power, social and ethnic mobilisation, and efforts to mitigate the negative impacts of corporate practices.
