Kurzbiographie

Nanuka Iashvili holds a BA in Social Sciences from Bard College Berlin, Germany. She completed her MA degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Central European University in Vienna. In the MA research project, she examined the historical and socio-economic transformation of the post-socialist Tbilisi and of Georgia through the Dry Bridge Flea Market. The ethnographic focus of the market allowed her to ask questions about value, how it is produced and who is capturing it.

Her current work too will remain geographically and thematically in Tbilisi, the research mainly revolving around migrants and housing struggles in the capital city.
