Short Biography

Furqan Faridi is a filmmaker and journalist from Kashmir. Currently, he is a PraeDoc in the project Anthrofuture, an ERC-funded research project at the University of Vienna, about understanding futures through art worlds. He is using ethnographic filmaking to explore future-making in art schools in India. With a background in documentary film, he is interested in social justice, people's movements, migration and using film and music as tools for community building.
