Particular attention will be given to the “legacy” of National Socialism and Catholic networks during the post-war period. A significant part of the research will explore international funding institutions, such as UNESCO, which facilitated numerous ethnological field studies, or the Wenner-Gren Foundation, which established an interdisciplinary anthropological conference centre at Burg Wartenstein in Lower Austria in 1958.
The project is supported by the following partners:
- the Royal Anthropological Institute in London,
- the Anthropos Institute in Sankt Augustin,
- the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research in New York.
Based at the Institute for Cultural Anthropology and European Ethnology at the University of Graz, the project offers a four-year Pre-doc position. It is scheduled to start in spring 2026.
