Short Biography

Eva Kössner is a PhD candidate and lecturer at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna. Currently she also works as a coordinator at the Graduate Centre of the university’s Faculty of Social Sciences. Her dissertation project (“Remembering Oslo in Transnational Contexts: Young Palestinian migrants and their memories of the Oslo Accords”) explores the relationship between transnational dynamics and commemorative practices among young adult Palestinians in the Middle East and Europe. 

In 2013 Eva Kössner received a Junior Fellowship of the IFK International Research Center for Cultural Studies in Vienna, and between 2014 and 2018 she was a DOC fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. In 2014 she was awarded the Dissertation Prize for Research on Migration (Austrian Academy of Sciences). Since 2017 Eva Kössner has been the spokesperson of the “Working Group Migration” of the German Association of Social and Cultural Anthropologists.
