Short Biography

After completion of the CREOLE (Cultural Differences and Transnational Processes) Joint MA degree at the University of Vienna, Sabina Cvecek received a DOC.team scholarship from the Austrian Academy of Sciences in 2016. Her research project, “Households at the Dawn of the Bronze Age – Contextualizing Local Social Organization in the Eastern Mediterranean from Anthropological Perspectives” aims to test two anthropological social organization models, namely chiefdom and segmentary/tribal society, for the two Early Bronze tell sites in Eastern Mediterranean: Platia Magoula Zarkou (Thessaly, Greece) and Çukuriçi Höyük (Western Anatolia, Turkey).
